According to a new Public Policy Polling survey, if President Donald Trump and Oprah Winfrey would compete in the 2020 presidential election, the long time TV host would win. The voters chose Winfrey over our president if she would run against him in three years.
The outcome of the poll was 47 percent for Winfrey leading Trump who has 40 percent. In addition, Winfrey also is got a bigger favorability rating than the president. In numbers, that’s 49 percent are favorable of her and 33 are unfavorable, and in the case of Trump, 43 percent were favorable and 50 percent unfavorable.
A brief of the poll results read, “Overall Trump has a 43% approval rating, with 50% of voters disapproving of him. The 43% approval matches the lowest we’ve found for him since he took office, but his disapproval is not as bad as the 53% we found for him right on the heels of the initial controversy over the travel ban.”
In an interview, Bloomberg’s David Rubenstein asked told Oprah Winfrey, “Given the popularity you have, and that we haven’t broken the glass ceiling yet for women, you could actually run for president and you could be elected.”
She replied, “I actually never thought that was…I never considered the question even a possibility.”
Rubenstein joked, “It’s clear that you don’t need government experience to be elected president of the United States.”
“That’s what I thought,” she continued. “I thought, ‘Oh gee, I don’t have the experience. I don’t know enough. But now I’m thinking, ‘Oh.’”
Probably, Winfrey was addressing Trump’s lack of political experience before becoming president.
Trump has given remarks on Winfrey’s influential power before. Two years ago, he told ABC News journalist George Stephanopoulos that he would welcome her as his running mate.
“I think Oprah would be great; I’d love to have Oprah,” Trump said. He added the two of them matched together would “win easily.”
